Dekalb County Area Alumni Chapter


On November 10, 1979, a legacy of dedication and impact began with the chartering of the ASUNAA DeKalb County Area Chapter. From its humble beginnings, this chapter has not just grown, it has tripled its membership, becoming one of the most visible and vital forces within the national alumni association!


For over four decades, the ASUNAA DeKalb Chapter has been a beacon of humanity, community service, and scholarship. They've consistently demonstrated their unwavering commitment to giving back and uplifting those around them. The 2024-2025 service year marked a monumental occasion: 45 years of unparalleled service and excellence!


This incredible journey was made possible by the vision and dedication of its founding members: Donald Blount, Esther Brown, Jummy Brown, Merita Brown, Prince Brown, Husherline Davis, Janice Davis, Gud Ford, Henry Nobles, Marianetta Park, Carolyn Rosemond, Carl Sanders, Brenda White, and Ernest "Coach" Williams. Their foresight laid the groundwork for a chapter that would truly make a difference.


The core purpose of the ASUNAA DeKalb Chapter is powerful and clear: to preserve the cherished memories of university life and unite efforts for the welfare of the University and its alumni. They are relentlessly committed to recruiting outstanding young men and women to their alma mater and providing crucial financial support through student scholarships and direct contributions, along with invaluable hands-on assistance.



At the heart of the chapter's success is their guiding principle: "Our Why." This powerful belief drives every initiative, pushing the organization to achieve greater heights. Over the past 45 years, the ASUNAA DeKalb Chapter has not just realized its potential, it has consistently exceeded expectations. Their unwavering commitment to putting students first and achieving goals where excellence is the standard defines their remarkable legacy.
