“This is a new year!” proclaimed President, Maria Boynton as she called her first meeting to order last Saturday at the Stonecrest Library Auditorium. Guest Speaker, ASU Marching Rams Show Band (MRSB) Director, Mr. Michael Decuir and his wife joined us after the meeting to talk about the journey to Pasadena, and the financing it would take to get them there. He gave us insight about the selection process, and the accomplishments already achieved. The ASU MRSB is the only band from the State of Georgia selected for the 2016 Rose Bowl Parade. They are preparing to get in tip top shape for the 5 mile Parade. While in Pasadena, the Band will participate in community service activities, but they still have a long way to go to collect enough funds to get to Pasadena. Mr. Decuir estimated that they were almost half-way toward their goal. There are currently 150 members, and the band is still growing.

ASU DeKalb pledged to raise $1,000.00 or more for the MRSB over the next 3 months.

We want to collect all Member donations to track and ensure credit for your generosity through this Chapter.

Fundraising!
In addition, Fundraising Chair, Jeannie Johnson, distributed Fund2Raise Scratch off Cards. Each card can yield a maximum of $250.00. It works like this: scratch 2 or more stars, and collect the total of the amounts revealed. If you are interested in taking a card around friends, family and co-workers, contact Jeannie Johnson. We have ten (10) of these cards in our possession. This is also a great way to collect anonymous funds for the band!
Tailgating!
Our 1st Tailgate will be in Phenix City at the Whitewater Classic, September 12, 2015.
Membership!
This is a great time to bring in NEW members! Ten (10) ASU DeKalb Camp Chairs will be given away to the first 10 new members that join this fiscal year.
