In a letter to ASU Dekalb President Tamara Nelson, Merita Brown has stepped down from the office of Chapter Secretary. Brown's letter reads, "It is with regret that I must resign my position as Secretary of the Chapter. Out of town activities and commitments keep us away more often than we anticipated." The letter goes on to say, "We will both continue to be affiliated with the Chapter, keep our assessments current, and participate in Chapter activities as often as possible."
Moving into the role as ASU Dekalb Secretary is Michelle Jones. She was nominated and approved during the Saturday, April 14, 2012, Chapter meeting.
As President, I understood Merita’s position, and reluctantly accepted her resignation. I am very grateful for the work she has done, and will miss the opportunity to work side by side with one of the many pillars in this Chapter. On the other hand, I am very thankful for Michelle Jones who did not decline taking on the responsibility of Secretary beginning with the next monthly meeting in May through the end of the 2013 Fiscal Year. Michelle is an excellent choice for this position.
