A Blue and Gold Weekend
ASU Dekalb Represents!

The weekend started on Friday, with the Strategic Planning Session.
It was to gather suggestions about the necessities for ASU to move forward positively over the next five years. Public and Community Relations, better dissemination of information to prospective and enrolled students, and better connections with alumni were among the many items offered from alumni in attendance.
Facilitator Connie Leggett says they will compile information gathered from various sessions, and present for review before it is finalized and presented as the final plan.

When asked by National Alumni Association President Greg Hylick how he likes it at ASU, ASU Dekalb Student Chapter Member Jaquez Cruse said "I love it!" We bumped into Cruse as he took time out from studying at the student center.  Cruse and his mother are members of ASU Dekalb.

The ASU Alumni Association inducted Misters Jerome Guy and James Lunsford into the Alumni Hall of Fame.  ASU Dekalb was represented as several members helped organize the program. Chapter co-founder and past president Prince Brown headed the event committee.  Chapter Reporter Maria Boynton was the Mistress of Ceremony. ASU Dekalb President Tamara Hampton Nelson, Hall of Fame Member Ruby Crews, Esther Brown, and S.T. Hobbs were among the attendees that filled the Student Center Ballroom.
If you haven't seen the new Student Center...you will be amazed!
ASU Writer Joseph West gave us a tour.

The Golden Rams gave it a great try, but fell short to Valdosta State 30-27.
A great moment during the game was when the bands from both schools combined to pay tribute to
late southwest Georgia legendary bandsman Jesse Walker.

Who was doing "The Woddle" following the game?
Who was hugged up with "Sam the Ram"?
