Founders Day Weekend-National Alumni Meeting
Published on 4/1/2011
Plenty of business was discussed at Friday's National Alumni Association meeting held on the ASU campus.
ASU Dekalb President TaKeshia Thomas shared with alumni, from various other chapters, how her chapter continues to grow in members and consistent commitment. National President Greg Hylick asked for support from alumni later this month in Atlanta, at a meeting of the Board of Regents and at a Legal Defense Coalition press conference. Vice President of Institutional Advancement Clifford Porter said they'll want input from all alumni on a 5 year strategic plan for ASU during the Homecoming business meeting in October. Porter used the quote, "Fail to plan, and you plan to fail", to make his point. Porter and ASU President Dr. Everette Freeman explained the significance of having Georgia Governor Nathan Deal as the May 7, Spring Commencement speaker. They explained why we should....be nice! Porter saying, "If we do what we've always done, we'll get what we always get." Freeman added, "Fort Valley is pi_ _ ed, because they wanted him first."
