| THANK YOU ASU DeKalb! The call was made and you answered. On Friday, October 25, 2019 at 1:00PM, several members and Ram Supporters arrived at Cleveland Avenue Elementary School to show the Rams of tomorrow what can and will happen when they activate their RAM POWER. There were four Georgia colleges/universities featured at this event and Albany State University was one of them. Other schools highlighted were: Georgia Southern University, Georgia State University, and Kennesaw State University.
It was indeed a day to remember for our youths. As our President, Pamela McMichael gave words towards a successful future on a queen's perspective and a student of the university. Followed by Mr. ASU himself, Wilbur Yancy as he provided our students with his family history and how it connects him to their community and school. Then, our own celebrity alumna, Maria Boynton provided the students with words of empowerment as they continue their path of success into college life, especially as a student at The Unsinkable Albany State University.
Our Alma Mater highlight continued as various students portrayed notable alumni from the university: Council Woman, Jazzmin Cobble, Olympian, Alice Coachman, Rapper, Rick Ross, Supreme Court Justice, Shondeana Crews Morris, and V103's News Anchor, Maria Boynton. Finally, the program concluded after the "Hypest College" competition; which we WON hands down with our "Ram Buck" and "A-S-U" chants. It was indeed something magical and special for the students and the university. The students at Cleveland Avenue know what Albany State University is all about and show excitement about what can happen when their "RAM POWER" is activated.
